Mount Pleasant holds several national awards:

Health Promoting School Award

2008 to 2011

This award demonstrates our commitment to promoting all-round good healthy lifestyles. We are continuing to work closely with Dudley Local Health Authority and our own Kitchen manager as we strive towards achieving the Platinum Food For Health award - this would reflect our growing development and understanding of the need to eat more healthily and live healthy lifestyles.

Artsmark Gold Award

2009 - third time

This process enabled us to fully evaluate our curriculum provision and opportunities for children to be involved in a range of activities linked to the Arts. Through this we have been able to develop greater links with other local schools and engage with external art group providers which has helped to enhance our own curriculum content.

Activemark

2008

As a school we are thrilled to have been awarded the Activemark again. The school has an astro-pitch which provides an all-year round facility and is extensively used. The award recognises the work of the staff to ensure that children's engagement in a range of physical activities is an important part of our curriculum, with additional playground activities and before and after-school opportunities.

ICT Mark

2006

This is soon to be revisited. We hope to regain the ICT mark and fully embed changes to our ICT curriculum and provision during this process.

Basic Skills Quality Mark

2007 - third time

This enables us to have embedded, as a minimum, every child's basic entitlement to access a full literacy and maths curriculum and to have support when underachievement is recognised. This has had the impact of improving our standards of teaching and learning in the basic skills and improved parental engagement in supporting both children and family learning.

EcoSchools Silver Award

2007

This award recognises our commitment for caring and respecting for the environment. Children at Mount Pleasant are encouraged to have a good understanding of environmental issues both locally and globally.

Food For Health Award - Gold Standard

2008

This award recognises the hard work of the kitchen staff in ensuring that healthy food is constantly available, that there are high standards of food safety and that there are good environmental practices in place.
