Where Goldilocks Went Next

When Goldilocks ran away from the three bears she ran to her Nans house. When she got to her Nan's she played for a bit and had dinner with her Nan. Then she went home and got lost in the woods. Then she went to bed. Then in the morning she got up and went for a walk and had her tea.

THE MIDNIGHT MONSTER

One cold, dark night in November, at midnight, teenagers, Kim, AG, Mattie, Anna, Jake and Amber were walking home from the pub, laughing and joking. Then suddenly they saw a humongous, ghostly shadow, slyly creeping across the buildings.

Amber screamed, and Kim asked AG, "Did you see that?"

AG replied, "Yes I did."

Anna stuttered, "Was that a g-g-g-g-ghost?"

Mattie answered, "No, I think it was a m-m-m-monster", and with that, they all ran back down the road, over the bridge and into a graveyard. They saw a huge, slimy, gruesome, green monster slowly blobbing towards them. Amber screamed again and they all ran home.

The next night they all went to the graveyard armed with Jake's little brother's plastic swords, shields and axes. They stealthily made their way through the tall ghostly trees.

When they encountered the monster they were ready. They quickly surrounded the monster, and fought to the death, but to the death of whom?

Jake got swiped into a tree, and got such a blow to the head, it cracked his skull and he died. Amber got picked up by one of his slimy, green hands, but she bit her way free. Anna clambered up a tree, jumped onto the monsters head and started hacking away at it. Although the sword was plastic, it had a sharp edge to it. AG and Mattie hurled themselves at the monsters feet and started doing anything they thought might hurt it. They carried on like this until very early in the morning, when the monster finally crumbled into dust and the wind blew it away. Then they made their way to the local hospital where their wounds were treated.

The next morning some journalists came to interview them. They took turns telling the press about their encounter with The Midnight Monster.

MONSTERS

Hairy, scary,
Please be wary,
Monsters can be quite contrary.

Highly willing,
Acting slyly,
Don't believe them when they're smiley.

Better by,
Follow a hunch,
Than end up in a monster's lunch.

My Trip to Waterstones

On the way to Waterstones my classmates and I played 'I spy with my little eye'. We played it until we got to Merry Hill where we passed through the multi-storey car park and over the bridge past Wetherspoons.

When we got inside Merry Hill, Mr Mooney showed us the way to Waterstones and when we arrived he told us that other people were doing their shopping so we must be sensible. We stepped inside and were amazed by how many books there were. A shop assistant split us into two groups; one group stayed with her (I was in that group) and the other went upstairs with a man assistant.

The lady told us that we could choose a book to buy with our money. I bought Peter Black and the Mystery of Craven’s Lake. After a short while we switched and we went upstairs with the man.

He showed us where all the books went to be checked and labelled in price. We spent half an hour there, then we went back downstairs to the lady but instead of seeing her in the chair we saw a man.

His name was Simon Halliday and he wrote the book that I had bought. He read the first chapter of his book to all of us. We then asked questions about what it was like being an author. After that I got him to sign my book.

Year six came along and we had to leave but it was great fun and we went back to school.
