Event - Eco Week 2010
18 to 22 January 2010
The children at St Peters First School in Droitwich held their third Eco week. During the week the children completed a number of activities to increase awareness of being Eco friendly and supporting and caring for our environment.
This week the children have been thinking carefully about a range of eco schools concepts such as recycling, saving energy and keeping our schools grounds clean. As part of our week the St Peters Eco Council spent an afternoon planting tree seedlings around our school grounds which the children hope in a few years will further enhance the appearance of the school.
In addition to this, the Year Four children were visited by the npower climate cops where they spent the day thinking about and exploring renewable energy. The children had a fabulous time completing tasks and investigations with the npower team and were provided with a range of free gifts to take home to remind them of their day and the messages which they had been addressed during the day.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their third successful eco week and with the help of the staff and our Eco Council will continue to work towards making St Peters Eco friendly!
