Event - Friendship Week

14 September 2009

Every year we celebrate friendship at St Peter's. We spent a whole week thinking about friendship and how important it is.

Each year group did lots of lovely activities including singing lots of friendship songs, making friendship cards, friendship chains and making special badges for our friends.

Mrs Greenwood and the School Council introduced us to our new exciting playtime boxes. Each class now has their own new box of equipment to play with at lunchtimes.

We were also introduced to our new school 'Peer Mediators.' They help us at playtimes and at lunchtimes if we ever have any problems with our friends. They talk to us about what has happened and they help us solve the situation so we can go on having fun in the playground!

Working cooperatively to build a train track.

Year 4 looked at how people can use expression to show emotion. We used freeze frame actions; everyone had to guess what emotion we were showing.

We also thought about what can make us angry and how we could control it. We wrote about our triggers on a firework. We thought about how long our fuse would be before we exploded and lost our temper. We thought of different strategies to put out the burning fuse just like a bucket of water.

Showing happiness.
