School Governor Profile

Justine Cosson - Chair of Governors

I am one of the nine Foundation Governors appointed by the Church. I have been a governor for nearly four years. I was Vice Chair for two years and was elected Chair in June 2008.

Some of you may know me through St Peter's Church or Droitwich Ladies Circle. I am a Solicitor and, until a few years ago, worked for a large law firm in Birmingham. I have recently had a temporary change of career and am working part time at Tumble Tots so you will recognise me by my t-shirt!

I live in Droitwich with my husband and children who are both at St Peter's School.

I became a governor when my daughter started at St Peter's and have found getting involved in school really rewarding. I am making the most of it now because I know I won't get past the gates of middle school and beyond!

I am the link governor for Literacy, Modern Foreign Languages and Music as I studied languages and love music. I have been Chair of the Staffing Committee and am on the Premises Committee.

I was brought up with the Church and Church schools as my father was the local Vicar and Chair of Governors of our local school; so I guess it is in my blood!

I became a governor because I wanted to become involved in the life the school that my children attend and which is part of our local community, I like to have my say(!), and I hope that I might be able to give something to the school for the benefit of all the pupils, staff and parents. It is really exciting to be able to help shape the direction and future of the school, to be involved in school activities and to see what goes on in school on a day to day basis.
