Ofsted Inspection
Our most recent Ofsted inspection was in October 2009. You can read the full report below:
Good with outstanding features
The Inspection team commented that:
- The overall effectiveness of the school is good with a good capacity for sustained improvement.
- St. Peter's is a good school that promotes high quality care for the well being of all pupils, together with a stimulating learning environment that enables pupils to achieve well. Their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding.
- Pupils make good progress in their academic work.
- The quality of teaching is good and there are some examples of outstanding teaching.
- Pupils are friendly polite and caring they enjoy their learning and work well together.
- Care guidance and support for pupils was judged to be outstanding.
SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools) Inspection
Our most recent SIAS inspection was in November 2009. We were delighted that the inspection said "The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St. Peter's First School as a Church of England school are outstanding". You can read the full report below:
Key Stage 1 SATs Results 2009
Year 2 children complete Standard Assessment Tasks/Tests (SATs) towards the end of the academic year. These tests and tasks help to support the ongoing teacher assessment that continually takes place throughout the year.
Teacher Assessment offers a professional judgement of a child's performance over a length of time. Parents/Carers are informed about their child's Teacher Assessment results at the end of the Summer Term with the Annual Report.
Below you can see our Key Stage 1 results for 2008/09. We are extremely pleased with the results this year. Well done children. You have worked very hard. Will we manage to beat these results next year? Let's try!

School Closures
During periods of severe weather such as heavy snow or flooding or due to other circumstances beyond our control we may need to close the school at short notice.
