Pupils' Zone

Meet some of the most important people at our school - the children!

School Council

Here we are enjoying some of the new playtime equipment.

The School Council consists of a representative from each class.

We meet regularly to discuss issues that affect us in school and share ideas about things we want to change or improve in our school. We organise charity fund raising events throughout the year.

Last year the School Council were given some money from the PTA to purchase some playtime equipment. We discussed what we might like with our classes and put together a playtime box for each class.

We have had lots of fun using our new equipment!

Eco Council

The St Peters School Eco Council.

The St Peters Eco Council is a group of dedicated pupils who represent each year group in school in order to help our school become more eco friendly.

The role of the Eco Council is to:

  • Ensure that the whole school is aware of the Eco-Schools approach and the issues which need to be tackled to be more Eco Friendly.
  • To work alongside teachers to raise the profile of being Eco Friendly in school.
  • To identify what the school can do better by carrying out environmental reviews and creating and working on an Action Plan.
  • Act as a representative of their class to ensure that Eco issues of the children in school are addressed and where possible solved.
  • Provide a link between pupils, teachers and the whole school community.

The Eco Council meet regularly to discuss the ways we can make our school more eco friendly and are responsible for organising our awareness weeks such as the Eco weeks which we have successfully held for the last three years.

Peer Mediation

Two of our mediators ready for action outside the Peer Mediation hut.

Starting in 2009, we trained a group of Year 4 children to be Peer Mediators.

The Peer Mediators are available every lunchtime play to help resolve any minor disagreements between younger children.
