Meet some of the most important people at our school - the children!

School Council

The School Council consists of a representative from each class.

We meet regularly to discuss issues that affect us in school and share ideas about things we want to change or improve in our school. We organise charity fund raising events throughout the year.

Last year the School Council were given some money from the PTA to purchase some playtime equipment. We discussed what we might like with our classes and put together a playtime box for each class.

Our new school council.

We have had lots of fun using our equipment!

Eco Council

The St Peters School Eco Council.

The St Peters Eco Council is a group of dedicated pupils who represent each year group in school in order to help our school become more eco friendly.

Pupil Voice: Do you know what our Eco Council tries to do in our school?

  • Look after our school and make it better.
  • Run back messages to our classes and post letters!
  • Use paper both sides and only then recycle it.
  • Tidy up!
  • Repair things! (Thanks Mr Parker!)
  • Clean the toilets! (Thanks Mr Parker again!)
  • Shut doors and close windows to keep the heat in.
  • Raise money to buy things for our school.
  • Encourage us not to waste resources.
  • Keep our school Eco friendly!

Pupil Voice: Can you think of some good ideas for the next Eco Council to work towards next year?

  • Help our school look cleaner... Mr Parker cleans but it still looks dirty!
  • Help our school look more exciting... pleeaasse.
  • Install solar panels.
  • Encourage us to walk to school.
  • More recycling.
  • Vegetable patch and flower gardens.
  • Plant fruit trees so we can grow our own.
  • Think about compost bins for our fruit skins.
  • Do we use too much toilet paper?
  • Adopt an endangered animal.

What can I say, other than watch this space; the Eco Council will keep you informed either here on this website or on the TIOT.

Friendship Helpers

Our Friendship Helpers.

Starting in 2009, we trained a group of Year 4 children to be Peer Mediators. This year the children have chosen to call themselves Friendship Helpers.

The Friendship Helpers are available every lunchtime play to help resolve any minor disagreements between younger children.

They say "We are the Friendship helpers. We go outside with the younger children at lunchtime and we help them if they have fallen out with their friends or they have nobody to play with. Being a Friendship helper is great because we get to help lots of children play nicely together and have a happy playtime".
