Our Work - Year 1
On this page you can enjoy some of the work done by our children in Year 1.
Making different pictures with 2D shapes and putting the numbers 1 to 20 in order in numeracy.
Having a go with the diablo as part of our topic on Toys.
In Numeracy we have been data handling. We sorted some packets of smarties. It was a very exciting lesson - our teacher was sure there were more smarties here at the start of the lesson!
Dressing up as a Victorian maid in Ruby Class's home corner.
We read stories about Hansel and Gretal and then made delicious gingerbread houses of the 'eating' variety. Yum!
In our Design Technology lessons we have designed and made a model of a house. For Mother's Day in March 2009, Year 1 made moving picture cards to show off their new skills learned in Design and Technology lessons.
This card had a pop-up flower pot in the middle as a surprise for Mum!
We used slider and pivot mechanisms to produce beautiful moving picture cards. This mummy will be very lucky to receive this!

Learning about houses and homes, we made a human bar chart to show the different types of houses we live in.
Stirling made this beautiful picture in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
We made houses from biscuits and sweets just like the house in Hansel and Gretel. They were good fun to make and tasted delicious!
A picture of a house, by Ella.
Artwork based on Henri Rousseaux literacy activity following poetry 'There's a Rumble in the Jungle', by Katie.
Investigating how many objects are needed to make things balance.
A house designed in DT, by Edward
A Self Portrait, by Hollie
Year 1 went to the Gym Festival at Droitwich Leisure Centre. We had great fun practising our gymnastic skills with the help of pupils from Droitwich high school. |
