Our Work - Year 2

On this page you can enjoy some of the work done by our children in Year 2.

We combined our DT, Literacy and Re to help us to develop our understanding of the Christmas story. We wrote play scripts and then designed and made puppets of characters from the nativity story. We then performed our puppet shows to the children from St Peter’s Pre School.

One of the exciting history topics we have learnt about is The Great Fire Of London. We studied the shape and of line of Tudor buildings and then painted pictures to create Pudding Lane. We then mixed appropriate colours to create flame and set Pudding Lane on fire!

In our numeracy lesson we have been learning about measurement and units of weight. We were asked to compare the weights of eight objects and then to order them. We checked we were correct by weighing them on a set of scales.

A Healthy Message, by Benjamin.

Work on Minibeasts by Lewis, Jack and Emma.

Following our visit to the Sacred Heart Church, we made clay tiles with symbols from the church.

Year 2 Numeracy work on 3D shapes.

Our school is very environmentally aware and so during ECO week we made outfits out of recycled materials. Don’t we look smart and dandy!

During our science lessons we explored how to make an electrical circuit using batteries, wires crocodile clips, bulbs and bulb holders. We were challenged to add a switch and more bulbs!

A display on foods that we eat during different celebrations.
