Children's Gallery - Year 3
![]() After learning more about rocks and soils we investigated soil from around the school. ![]() Here we are using chocolate to investigate how rocks are formed. Unfortunately we were not allowed to eat them after. ![]() In our Music lessons we have been looking at singing games. We have used balls, skipping ropes and teamwork. ![]() The children learning Bollywood dancing, and then striking some poses. ![]() Year 3 were very excited when they recieved Christmas cards from their friends in France. ![]() In numeracy we have been looking at nets. We put them together to make Hadrian's wall. ![]() Dressing up as a Roman soldier. ![]() Year 3 have been learning about how to look after their teeth. Looked what happened to our eggs when we put them in cola and vingar without protecting them with toothpaste! ![]() We have been studying Andy Warhol in our Art lessons. We began by looking at colour mixing and progressed to repeating a design to emulate his style. ![]() Learning about needle factories from Louisa Hunt from the needle work museum. ![]() The children working on their Cow Parade Project in Design Technology. |
![]() Here we are looking at Venn diagrams. We decided on our own criteria, some of us looked at materials and others at thickness. ![]() We enjoyed making brooches out of salt dough. Here you can see us carefully following the design. and some of the finished brooches. ![]() We had an Art Day where we learnt lots of new painting techniques. We mixed colours, looked at tones and paint effects such as sgraffitio. ![]() We have been learning about materials in Science so we used this knowledge to build Viking Longships using recycled materials.
We have been learning about teeth and how to keep them healthy. Some children took disclosing tablets to show where they needed to brush
Here they have brushed their teeth nice and clean!

In Literacy we created our own fruit shaped poems, they look good enough to eat!
Our completed Indian wallhangings. We used batik and ink to created the pattern on a piece of fabric. We then cut this out into three sections which we sewed into triangle shapes. ![]() Here we are acting out a Viking story during our trip to Dudley museum. ![]() Folding needle packets, during our session learning about needle factories.
We created mood boards in art as a starting point before creating our Indian hangings.
