Welcome to Tenacres

I am delighted to welcome you to the Tenacres website and would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to some of our unique features.

The school opened in 1975 and has throughout this period sustained a very good reputation for high standards of behaviour and achievement.

During the 10 years I have been Headteacher, we have had three very positive Ofsted Inspections, the most recent of which was in February 2007.

The staff at Tenacres are well-qualified and dedicated to ensuring all our pupils achieve their best.

Our Mission Statement reflects the inclusive nature of all our practices where all children are treated as individuals and the curriculum is planned to ensure all abilities and learning styles are catered for. We work hard to maintain very close partnerships with parents and value the support we receive from them and the wider community.

As shown in the photographs throughout this website, we have very good facilities to support effective teaching, including an ICT Suite, specialist Art and Music Rooms and a Library. The children also benefit form the open spaces, enjoying three playgrounds, a sports field and wildlife areas.

This website only gives you a flavour of life and the facilities at Tenacres. To enable you to judge for yourselves the happy and purposeful atmosphere of our school, I would encourage you to arrange a visit and we will be happy to show you round.

Welcome from the TAPA

The Tenacres Parents Association (TAPA) welcome you to this website, and to Tenacres First School.

We are a group of parents who organise social and fund-raising events, such as the Summer Fete, Bingo Evenings, Barbecues and Discos. We use the funds raised to purchase extras for the children, such as a Christmas Pantomime and playground games.

All our events are well supported by the community.

We warmly welcome new members so please get in touch via the school office if you are interested. We would love to hear from you!
